The ex-voto anatomicals of Cyprus, Hellenistic epochs and Roman antiquity are often qualified as a result of their detailed representation of arms, legs, fingers, and even male and female organs, as well as eyes.
These votive offerings were deposited with wishes and prayers, aimed at obtaining divine favors.

The eye represented on this stele which is in fact an ex-voto was carved carefully, certainly to realize a vow of healing.
According to the style used by the sculptor and the cause that motivated the representation of this unique eye, the absence of a pupil could evoke the loss of sight, thus symbolizing the ardent desire to find this precious meaning.
Perhaps this wish is linked to the desire to see the face of a former love, a deep quest for comfort and connection.

This remarkable ex-voto was carved in sandstone by our craftsmen, then presented on a museum-style base.
The matt black metal base is equipped with two hooks ensuring a stable and elegant presentation of this piece full of symbolism and history.
