More info

Absolutely original and very beautiful object of decoration here is a re-edition of a trophy in dark wood and carved of the tribe "Irian Jaya" very typical, originating from Papua New Guinea.

Originally, these skulls preserved the remains of a defeated warrior and were displayed on the torso in order to show to all his power.
Like the original, a feather ornament adorns the top of the skull, and a shell ornament decorates the nasal cavity.
These decorative and symbolic elements are connected to the skull by an ingenious system of knots.
The eye cavities are filled with beeswax, resin and seeds, or even shells.

This piece has a charm extraordinary.
This
practice of embalming, still practiced in the lastcentury , is now prohibited, but some tribes keep skillfully the memory rituals and ceremonies!

This atypical mask presented on a black metal base will be perfect, really original and unusual to sublimate your decoration.
Perfect to offer or to decorate!
