At the beginning of the 19th century, panoramic wallpapers revolutionized the interior decoration by offering mechanically created decorations, perfectly reproducing the style of the trompe-l'oeil made by hand, much appreciated by painters of the time. These panoramas were designed to create a realistic illusion within the bourgeois interiors, thanks to immense scenery and murals.
