More info

Superb painting reproduction on canvas with aged and cracked effect, mounted on an aged wooden frame also patinated, as if this painting had been discovered while searching in an old attic, a work of art hidden out of sight and preserved preciously.

This painting represents a landscape of "Nubian Giraffe" painted by Jacques-Laurent Agasse.
The original of this painting was painted in 1827.

This is a representation of a Nubian giraffe (North-East African region, on both sides of the Egyptian-Sudanese border, including the Nile Valley, in the Cataracts area, and that of the Atbara).
This depiction is the captive portrait of the animal here depicted two Arabian keepers and menagerie owner Edward Cross (1773-1854), who oversaw the giraffe's brief stay in Windsor
This famous giraffe was sent by Mehemet Ali, Pasha of Egypt, to George IV. She arrived in England in August 1827 and was installed in George IV's menagerie at Windsor but died two years later.

It's a genre and equally historic scene of the noble animal's captivity, with anxious keepers trying to persuade it to drink. The fact that his huge neck is twisted is not an accident but a symbol of his poor condition.

This work shows an extraordinary pictorial quality and particularly elaborated with exceptional precision.

This fantastic finely made painting will have the extreme elegance to add an extra touch to your interior decoration by decorating your walls with the elegance of the old.

Very nice achievement that will be perfect to dress your walls.
