Fantastic Empire style patinated gilt bronze candlestick, finely chiseled.
Its general shape is sumptuous, the barrel of its column is domed in the lower part with a scotie and fluted along its entire length.
The circular foot is guilloché, the upper corolla is fluted.
The capital of the barrel is finely decorated with chiseled acanthus leaves.
The color of this candle holder is golden with a slight antique patina.

Before the light produced by electricity became common as today, chandeliers were essential lighting elements at the beginning of the 19th century.
The light of the candles then reflected on the clear and reflective surfaces and then bathed the room in a warm and golden light.
Candlesticks were usually placed directly closest to the user.
They were also placed in pairs on fireplaces or consoles.
