Fantastic large candlestick in patinated gilt bronze, finely chiseled.
Its general shape is sumptuous, its column is fluted and a listel separates its circular foot.
The foot is guilloche, the upper corolla is beaded.
Before the light produced by electricity became common as today, chandeliers were essential lighting elements at the beginning of the 19th century.
The light of the candles then reflected on the clear and reflective surfaces and then bathed the room in a warm and golden light.
Candlesticks were usually placed directly closest to the user.
They were also placed in pairs on fireplaces or consoles.
